I have never taken the time to note the quality of a product but recently I am finding the fact that other people do so is very helpful to me, so here goes. I have rented a Hamptons home for two summers and a winter and this winter I had a very unpleasant surprise, roof leaks of various natures (which were all immediately repaired) and a terrible stench resulting from mold which is clearly through all the walls. I had a friend with this issue in a home out here and it cost them north of 50k to clean and repair their 11,000 square foot residence so I wasnt very surprised when my landlord wasnt willing to do the same. I am a health nut and I am not particularly sensitive to smells so I was getting somewhat frantic with respect to the problem which was causing me to feel like I had the flu round the clock, even my dogs were coughing. Through research I found allergybuyersclub on the web. Their products were highly recommended per other filtration websites and quite frankly I havent been able to find another silent mold elimination solution anywhere. I started with two of their IQ Air Health Pro's. The fan noise is driving me crazy and while they work well, the lower speed which I can tolerate from a noise standpoint isnt sufficiently effective. I then ordered one Onix 3000 which is blessedly silent and yes as another review noted there is a slight metallic smell most likely caused by the incineration of the particles. After the stench of a serious mold issue I found this a mild scent very welcome. I have found that with the serious nature of my problem the 3000 unit is only able to cover about 300 square feet (most likely due to my 20+ foot ceilings in the primary living areas. However in a small bedroom it was extraordinarily effective (my mother who is extremely sensitive to smell and particularly to the smell of mold or mildew recently visited and reported that her room where I tested this was the only room in the house where she was completely comfortable). So, in short if you consider the cost of remediation and purchase 10 or so of these instead, in my opinion its a very sound maintenance free investment. I have just placed an order for my next round and I hope to purchase enough of them to end my misery shortly.
